Why Trusting Therapy?

Hello and welcome, my name's Beverley and I work with Adults, Young People & Children.

There are many reasons for seeking therapy. What brings you here?

  • Do you or child feel anxious, angry, low, or overwhelmed?

  • Can you not find the right words - just sense that something isn’t okay?

  • Perhaps you have an understanding of the issues, but need help processing them?

Whether you're 5, 15, or 50 years old, I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship we build together.

Adults

If you’re looking for support for yourself, you don’t have to go through this alone. I offer a gentle, supportive space where you can bring whatever is going on, just as you are. Often people come with one particular worry, and together we begin to notice there may be other experiences underneath - for example, anxiety that connects with unprocessed bereavement or other losses. Because of this, I don’t focus on just one area; I work with you as a whole person, at your pace, with care and understanding.

Children & Young People

I’m a Level 7 qualified counsellor with an MSc and postgraduate diploma in Counselling Children and Young People. Alongside private practice, I have experience counselling in schools and sixth form settings. I’m currently working in a secondary school where I see clients with a variety of issues. I provide a gentle, welcoming space where children and young people feel heard and can express themselves at their own pace - through talking or creative approaches like play, sand tray, or puppets.

I support children, young people and adults with:

  • Anxiety, worry, or panic

  • Low mood or depression

  • Bereavement and loss - including pet loss

  • Trauma and abuse (past or recent)

  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts

  • Anger, shame, or emotional overwhelm

  • Relationship or family difficulties

  • Identity, gender, and sexuality

  • Neurodivergence (including ADHD and autism)

Whatever you’re going through, you, your child, or young person, don’t have to face it alone. This is a space where you can show up just as you are; no pressure, no judgment. I’m here to provide warmth and compassion in a safe space, where healing can begin one step at a time.

Lived Experience

Along with training and qualifications, my background as a trauma survivor allows me to offer a grounded, empathic, and authentic therapeutic presence. I have experience of a diverse range of presenting issues, furthermore, I have over 20 years’ lived experience of the mental heath system.

If something here resonates, you’re very welcome to reach out. You can email me here to start your journey, even if it's just a few words to make that tentative first step. We can gently explore what support might feel right for you. I also offer a free, no-obligation phone call so you can see how it feels to connect.

Anxiety

I offer a gentle, supportive space for exploring anxiety. We work together to understand its triggers, address negative thought patterns, and develop practical coping skills. My aim is to help you feel more in control, reduce worry, and build inner strength to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

Bipolar

Whether you’ve been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, or identify with the experience in your own way, I welcome you. Whether you view bipolar as an illness, a part of who you are, or something else entirely - I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey with understanding and respect. I bring over two decades of navigated experience within the mental health system after receiving a bipolar diagnosis age 21. Although we may not have walked the same path, my lived experience allows for deep insight and understanding.

Trauma

As a qualified therapist with lived experience, I bring empathy and understanding to our work together. I create a safe space where you can process your trauma at your own pace. I believe the relationship we build is the most important part of therapy. Together, we explore healing and work toward reclaiming your sense of peace.

Neurodivergence

I embrace neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD, by creating a slnon-judgmental space tailored to each individual's unique ways of thinking and experiencing the world. I adapt therapeutic approaches to meet diverse needs, empowering clients to understand themselves, build on their strengths, and navigate challenges with confidence and self-compassion.

Suicidal Thoughts

When working with suicidal thoughts, I focus on creating a safe space where you can freely share your feelings without fear of judgment. Together we explore what’s behind these thoughts, create a plan for safety, and discover new ways to cope. My priority is to support you, build your emotional strength, and help guide you toward a place of hope and healing.

Low Mood/Depression

I support clients with low mood and depression by fostering a safe, empathic environment. Together, we explore underlying causes, challenge negative thought patterns and develop coping strategies. My goal is to help clients regain a sense of hope, and move toward a more fulfilling life.
