Why Trusting Therapy?

Hello and welcome.
I'm Beverley, a psychotherapist and counsellor based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
I provide counselling to adults, children and young people.
There are many reasons people come to counselling. You or your child may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low, angry, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or struggling with something difficult that’s hard to put into words. Sometimes people know exactly what’s wrong, and sometimes there’s just a feeling that something isn’t okay.
Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to face it alone.

If you’re looking for counselling for yourself, I offer a gentle and compassionate space where you can bring whatever is going on, without pressure or judgement. People often come to counselling because they’re struggling with anxiety, stress, relationships, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.
Counselling for Adults
Sometimes we begin with one presenting issue and gradually realise there are deeper feelings or experiences underneath that need care and attention too. I don’t believe people fit neatly into boxes. Rather than focusing soley on labels or diagnoses, I work with you as a whole person, at your pace, in a way that feels safe and manageable.

Creating Sensory Bags
Children and teenagers don’t always find it easy to talk about how they’re feeling. That’s why I offer a calm, welcoming counselling space where they can express themselves in ways that feel comfortable for them. These may include music, mood cards, toys, puppets, sand tray work, drawing, or simply talking.
Alongside private practice, I currently work as a counsellor within a secondary school supporting young people with a wide range of emotional difficulties. My aim is always to help children and young people feel heard, understood, and accepted just as they are.
